This is where your story begins, arriving at Clonabreany House and meeting Packie!
Our Packie, always smiling, is there to welcome you at the gates of Clonabreany House and he sets the tone for your wedding day here with us. He’s warm and welcoming and takes extra special care of all our brides, grooms and their families and guests. Everyone loves Packie! So today we’d like to introduce you to the man himself.
After a long career in construction working throughout Europe, Packie joined the Clonabreany team back in 2008 when he planted the hedging around the main house. With his warm personality and friendly smile, it wasn’t long before he became our front of house and moved down to the main gate and that’s where he’s been ever since.
On chatting to Packie it’s obvious that he loves what he does. He loves meeting couples and guests from near and far and loves all the chats! He never feels fed up and always looks forward to coming to work and even on days when he might not feel his best he says meeting everyone perks him up and makes him feel much better.
Packie lives in nearby Rachlaghy and doesn’t mind sharing the fact that he turned 79 earlier this year. He feels very lucky to be able to do the job at his age and to meet such nice people and feels it’s part of what keeps him so young. He’s told us how he loves to see all the young staff starting in Clonabreany, learning their skills and growing into their roles. He has always been a constant support for all the team. Packie tells us how delighted he is to have seen Clonabreany grow and improve over the years and he is delighted with its success.
As a key member of our team here at Clonabreany House we can’t thank Packie enough for the amazing job he does and for making our couples and their guests feel so special. Next year is a big year for Packie as he turns 80 and we’re all looking forwarding to celebrating with him in style at Clonabreany!
